Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is? Read the inaugural post which explains the idea and how you can participate too.I am a vocalist from a long line of vocalists. I've written about how I wanted so badly to share that legacy with my child. I have a particular interest in music perception as far as my work life is concerned, but my grasp on the development of music skills in kids is pretty basic. When Chipmunk started "singing" I was a little concerned. She sounded... well... tone deaf to me. I asked one of my coworkers, an SLP with a degree in vocal performance, what she thought and she patted me on the head and said, "It's okay, Lisa. Maybe she'll play piano." I laughed it off as God's little joke. Here's your bio baby! She's awesome, love who she is, not who you want her to be.But by George, she's getting it! This girl is running around the house singing and dancing every chance she can get, and you can actually tell what she's singing! She even jumped up on her dresser while I was changing her diaper and gave an impromptu performance of "The Hot Dog Dance." I'm loving it. My heart is so full I think it's going to just bust. I was going to post a video... but then had second thoughts. It's on Facebook, shared with a special group of friends who have taken the "Chipmunk Pledge" so if you want to see it, we'll just have to become Facebook friends (hint hint, nudge nudge. :)
