Went in for my second scan today. It's med day 7. I've been starting to feel uncomfortable, so I was prepared to see some action on the screen and I wasn't disappointed. He counted 12 on the right between 11-13mm and 5 on the left between 11-12mm. There were about 15 at 10 mm or under on each ovary. He was happy with this and so was I so I. He told me to start the Cetrotide as soon as I had a chance, and then I went to get my blood drawn. Well, I got a call that afternoon that my Estradiol is high (1074). So I'm to dial back my stims a tad, continue with the Cetrotide, go in for a blood draw Saturday and keep my ultrasound appointmen for Sunday. This makes me nervous. I'm already labeled at high risk for OHSS. I don't want to end up cancelled and I want to be sure we have nice, mature, quality eggs rather than just a shit ton of them.
Also, I'm running out of veins.
Anyone else have a spike in Estradiol around day 7 and a happy story to share? I could use one!
Today's silver-lining is only that I can pronounce Estradiol. That's pretty fancy.
Come one ya damned hormones! Behave!

Way to go ovaries! I can't weigh in on the E2 levels though... Regarding OHSS, do you know if your doc does prolonged coasting? It's a way to avoid hyperstimulating but still let the follicles mature. I've read about it on dr shers blog alot.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear the next update!!
I wasn't far behind you (E2 was 929 at Day 7 of stims) and they don't seem to be worried - so I think you're doing fine so far? Just hang in there!
ReplyDeleteI don't know my E2 levels, but I hear you on the running out of veins! This is the first time I've ever had blood drawn two days apart and I am not a fan. And I am also starting to get uncomfortable - that combined with my tender belly from the injections is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI've seen a lot of people have levels that were high but did not develop into OHSS. Let us know how it goes Sunday!
I have zero experience with this, but hopefully the adjustment in meds will fend of OHSS. Your poor veins! Wishing you good news this weekend!
