New Year, New Start

Know what kinda sucks?  Realizing that your New Year's Eve plans won't pan out because you have to trigger... and we probably shouldn't drink... and we can't have any nookie.  We are racking our brains trying to figure out how to make this a romantic yet dry and sex free NYE so that it doesn't go down in history as being the NYE that sucked.  Of course if the IUI works there is no WAY it will be the NYE that sucked, but just in case we should probably have a plan for fun.

In the mean time, I'm working on my list of things I hope to accomplish in 2012.  New Years also marks a year of trying for us.  It's a milestone I was hoping to avoid, but kinda knew we would hit.  While I hope for a pregnancy in 2012, I know that it isn't something fully within my control, or something I can "accomplish," so it isn't going on the list.

1.  Healthier eating and exercise habits.  We're usually pretty good at this, but I'm really hoping to be more solid about it in 2012.

2.  Say my rosary.  Some people meditate, Catholics say rosaries.  I figure it can't hurt.  My mother gave me a St. Anne rosary for Christmas and I'm glad she chose St. Anne.  Most of the saints that are patrons against infertility are dudes.  I'd much rather ask for intercession from someone who's been there done that.  Wow.  Typing Catholic stuff out loud really makes you sound crazy cakes.

3.  Continue to be financially responsible.  We've been so darned good since we got married and have made serious dents in our debt.  I'm really really proud of us and want to continue seeing things moving in the right direction.

4.  Focus more on my husband.  I am a newlywed after all.  The TTC process has totally sucked some of that out and I would like to get it back.

5.  Be less of a doormat.  'Nuf said.

Stay safe tonight everyone!!!

  1. I feel ya! I will be drinking sparkling grape juice like a little kid since our IUI was yesterday. Good luck!

  2. I have always loved the idea of rosaries, although I'm not Catholic. I don't think it makes you sound any more crazy than some of the other stuff people do with TTC.
